Limited Warranty

This limited warranty covers the windows and related products purchased from and installed by Livinconcepts LLC d/b/a Uniview Windows® (“Uniview Windows”). Coverage periods for each component are listed below and begin on the installation date.

What we will do

If a covered defect appears within its coverage period, Uniview Windows will, at its option, repair the product, replace the defective part or unit with new or equivalent parts, or refund the price of the affected item.

Labor to repair or replace a covered part is included during the installation coverage period (2.5 years from the installation date). After that, covered parts are supplied at no charge for the remainder of their coverage period, and labor is billed at our current service rate.

Repaired or replaced parts are covered for the remainder of the original coverage period; the period does not restart. Colors and finishes of replacement parts are matched as closely as possible; an exact match cannot be guaranteed.

Conditions

This warranty applies only to products installed by Uniview Windows or its authorized installer, used under normal residential conditions, and maintained according to the care instructions provided. Products installed, removed or altered by others are not covered.

Transfer to a new owner

This warranty may be transferred once to a subsequent owner of the home, provided Uniview Windows receives written notice of the sale, with the new owner’s name and contact information, within 30 days of the closing. The remaining coverage periods do not restart.

What this warranty does not cover

Uniview Windows has no obligation for failure, damage or cost caused by or related to:

• Modifications to the product, aftermarket glass film or tinting, or attaching items not supplied by Uniview Windows (such as security systems, blinds or shades) to the frame or sash
• Painting, staining or applying coatings not approved by Uniview Windows
• Water infiltration not caused by a defect in the product or our installation
• Settling, movement or structural failure of the building, or rot or structural defects in the existing opening
• Condensation on interior or exterior glass surfaces resulting from indoor humidity and outdoor temperature
• Improper cleaning or maintenance, including abrasive cleaners, razor blades, pressure washing, sanding or harsh chemicals
• Fading of furniture, flooring, window coverings or other surrounding materials
• Airborne chemicals or pollutants, salt spray or acid rain
• Accidents, misuse, abuse, vandalism, fire, flood, storms and other acts of God
• Glass breakage after installation, unless caused by a covered defect
• Normal wear and tear, and tarnish or corrosion of hardware finishes
• Minor scratches, slight glass curvature or other imperfections that do not affect structural integrity or significantly obscure normal vision when viewed from 10 feet
• Insects passing through or around the insect screen
• Products removed or reinstalled, or repairs or service performed, by anyone other than Uniview Windows without our written approval
• Products not supplied by Uniview Windows, and special glazings, art glass or impact glass unless stated in writing

Your responsibilities

Operate and clean your windows according to the care instructions provided, keep drainage (weep) holes clear, and notify us promptly in writing of any problem. Damage made worse by delay in reporting is not covered.

How to make a claim

Contact Uniview Windows by phone, email or the service request form. Please provide your name, installation address and phone number; your agreement number; the location of the affected product; and a description and photos of the problem.

• Urgent issues (a window will not close or lock, broken glass, water entering the home): we call back the same business day and schedule a visit within 2 business days.
• All other issues: we respond within 1 business day and schedule an inspection within 10 business days.

Warranty service may be performed by Uniview Windows or an authorized service provider.

Non-warranty service

You are responsible for the cost of any service not covered by this warranty or outside the warranty period. When coverage is unclear, a service-call fee may be charged for an on-site inspection; the fee is waived if the inspection finds a covered defect. The current service-call fee is $149 and includes adjustment of up to five windows; parts are billed separately.

Limitations

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS IN PLACE OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WHICH ARE LIMITED TO THE WARRANTY PERIODS STATED ABOVE. UNIVIEW WINDOWS IS NOT LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, WHETHER ARISING IN CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE. REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT AS DESCRIBED IN THIS WARRANTY, OR AT UNIVIEW WINDOWS’ OPTION A REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE AFFECTED PRODUCT, IS YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY.

Applicable law

This warranty applies to products installed in the United States. It gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary from state to state. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or limits on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you. If any term of this warranty is found unenforceable, the remaining terms stay in effect.
